- A check that runs a little over your remaining words (up to 10% of the run or 50,000 words, whichever is smaller) still finishes; the difference comes from your next top-up or renewal.

How billing works.
- Annual billing
- Annual plans cost 11 times the monthly price: one month free. Synthetic Scale annual billing is by quote.
- Changing plan
- Adding a product or upgrading applies straight away, prorated in price and in capacity. Downgrades apply at the end of the period.
- Allowances
- Monthly allowances renew on your billing date, the same day as your invoice.
- At your limit
- A run in progress finishes. New runs wait for a top-up, an upgrade or your renewal. No surprise overage charges.
- Your own key (Engine)
- Usage on your own model key is paid to your provider and never counts against Provance's hosted capacity.
- Failed payment
- If a payment still fails after automatic retries, AI work pauses on every product. Nothing is deleted.

Pricing questions.
Can I use my own model key for Synthetic?
No. Synthetic always runs on Provance-hosted models, because Provance chooses and evaluates the model for each role (generation, gold standards, safety review), and adopts a new model only after it passes the same evaluation.
What counts towards my monthly conversations?
Every conversation generated counts, including ones the QA checks reject. Your results show the QA pass rate, so you can see exactly what you received. Rejected conversations can never be exported.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
A run already in progress finishes. New runs wait until you add a top-up pack, upgrade, or your allowance renews on your billing date. You can also turn on auto top-up with a maximum you set. There are no surprise overage charges.
Which currency will I pay in, and is GST included?
Prices are shown in US dollars by default. Organisations billed in Australia pay in Australian dollars. All prices exclude GST; 10% GST is added at checkout.
Is there a discount for annual billing or for using more than one product?
Annual plans cost 11 times the monthly price, so one month is free (Synthetic Scale annual is by quote). An organisation with a paid Synthetic plan gets 10% off its Engine plan. Both products share one subscription and one invoice.
